Certificate award ceremony of education quality accreditation for the undergraduate program of Hotel Management
Recently, the Center for Education Accreditation (CEA) – Vietnam National University, HCM City signed the decision to accredit 2 undergraduate programs of NTTU, including Hotel Management and Electrical and Electronic Engineering programs which met the education quality accreditation standards in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). With this result, in the morning of October 19th, NTTU solemnly held the announcement and award ceremony of education quality accreditation certificate for the Hotel Management program at 331 National Route 1A, An Phu Dong Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
Attending the ceremony, representatives from the Center of Education Accreditation, VNU-HCM City include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Vice Director of CEA and Mr. La Hoai Tuan – Chief of the Office of CEA. Representatives from NTTU attending the event include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung- President, Dr. Tran Ai Cam – Vice President, M.A Phan Thi Ngan – Dean of Tourism and Vietnamese Studies faculty and other Deans and Vice Deans of several faculties, groups of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Tourism and Vietnamese Studies.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung – President received the decision of education quality accreditation for the Hotel Management program.
The Hotel Management and Electrical and Electronic engineering majors are the first two programs of NTTU participated in the quality accreditation process of undergraduate program in compliance with the Circular 04 of MOET. According to the conclusions of the assessors’ team, all of the assessment standards/criteria of the two programs completely met the quality standards of Circular 04. Most of the criteria were evaluated and received good ratings. In particular, the numbers of indicators passed were at the rate of 96% for the Hotel Management program and 88% for the Electrical and Electronic engineering program.

In the pleasure of the ceremony, Ms. Phan Thi Ngan – Dean of Tourism and Vietnamese Studies faculty shared: “Receiving the certificate of education quality accreditation for the Hotel Management program is an evidence of the value of qualification for students who have been and will be studying the program. The guarantee of quality is expected to attract partners in the same field that will bring internship and job opportunities for graduates.”
The Faculty of Tourism and Vietnamese studies at NTTU is one of the leading faculties in training human resources in the areas of Tourism, restaurant and hotel with certain contributions to the socio-economic development of Vietnam, particularly of regional area. To gain present achievements, the Faculty has always complied with NTTU’s philosophy: “True learning – True practice, true success, true future”, and never stopped improving in quality and quantity. In recent years, the Faculty provides training programs in Tourism, Hotel Management, Hospitality and Gastronomy Management, Vietnamese studies, Travel Management, etc. from diploma to undergraduate qualifications in full-time and off-campus study modes. The number of students has increased dramatically over each period. It is one of the largest faculties in terms of regular students. Especially, during the teaching process, the Faculty has always paid attention to organizing placements and internships for students. Since 2018, the Faculty has built and operated the Restaurant and Hotel Practical Complex according to international standards, 5 stars-rated with full of luxurious functional areas such as restaurants, bars, Asian-European kitchen, bakery, hotel rooms and reception, etc. Indeed, freshmen majoring in Tourism, Restaurant and Hotel Management can have access to this complex to practice as working in a realistic environment. In addition, during the course, students will attend field visits to restaurants, hotels, and tours given their major. The field visits are organized methodically and professionally by NTTU due to its close collaboration with many leading tourism service providers in HCM City. Thanks to the field visits and internships at tourism businesses, the application of theoretical and practical knowledge will gain better effectiveness, helps students adapt immediately to the company working environment. The internship outcomes of students from the Faculty have always been highly appreciated by tourism companies.

Moreover, the Faculty has worked closely with companies, recruiters to study human resource needs in order to increase job recommendations for graduate students. Apart from domestic networks, the Faculty also signed collaborative agreements with corporations in the field of tourism, restaurant, and hotel management from many countries such as Japan, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan and etc. Annually, companies will organize career fairs targeting qualified students to participate in internships with high salary rate. This can be considered a current advantage of the Faculty of Tourism and Vietnamese studies – NTTU.
Ms Chau Ngoc Anh – a sophomore majoring in Hotel Management excitedly shared:” I feel very proud of the program I’m studying became the first program meeting the quality education standards of MET. I myself and other peers in the Hotel Management major will study a qualified program which will constantly be improved, and the value of my qualification will increase together with the competitive advantages in seeking for future jobs”.
Lecturers of the Tourism and Vietnamese studies faculty have outstanding achievements in training and enrollment
NTTU’s visions are to become one of the leading universities in the region, a practical, applied and research-oriented university, a high-quality institution of undergraduate and postgraduate education to meet social demands, step-by-step asserting its reputation through training quality in different professions. NTTU has always prioritized quality and highly appreciated the role of quality assurance and quality assessment according to domestic and international standards. The aims are to improve, innovate, and enhance teaching and training quality and accountability in education. Therefore, ensuring the quality of education has been applied in every activity from macro strategy to daily teaching activities. In 2016, NTTU proudly became one of the three universities in Vietnam recognized as a 3 Star institution by QS Stars (UK). In 2017, NTTU was accredited to meet the national education accreditation standards and became an associate member of ASEAN University Network (AUN-QA). Until now, NTTU has 2 programs meeting the quality accreditation standards in Circular 04 of MOET and 4 programs currently assessed in accordance with the quality standards of AUN-QA. In 2019, NTTU was honored to be the first private university in Vietnam recognized as a 4 Star institution by QS Stars. Meanwhile, NTTU is striving to be in the top 50 leading universities in ASEAN, with some majors to be ranked in the top 500 in Asia in the near future. It can be said that this result will be a tremendous honor, pride and motivator for the entire team of leaders, staff, lecturers and students during the process of enhancing training quality, carrying out the mission and vision towards the national development.

In the joy of the ceremony, the Faculty organized a number of meaningful events, such as celebrating new academic year, rewarding lecturers with excellent performance in training and enrolment, and hosting award ceremony of the “Tourism Talent 2019” contest.
